2020 MISSION TRIPS
At this time, FBC Amarillo has cancelled all international mission trips for June and July 2020. However, we continue to support our mission partners around the world and invite you to join in praying for our local and global community as we press on in ministry together.
Team members will work through local schools to provide Bible-based English camps for various ages, allowing them to build relationships and share the good news of Jesus. At the invitation of the Baptist Union of Hungary, team members are hosted by local believers and partner with Hungarian churches for further ministry in the community.
Summer language camps are being planned at many of the schools for social and cultural enrichment and as a means of connecting church members with the students and their families.
You will see and experience this beautiful country as no tourist ever will: living with a Hungarian family in their home, meeting their friends and family, and not only seeing Budapest, but also large and small towns and villages outside the capitol. You will be trained with tools and curriculum to teach English, and you will have your own story translated to use as a way to introduce yourself and communicate your faith. Options are available for one or two weeks.
Dar El Awlad (which means “The Children’s Home”) provides a home for vulnerable boys who have been orphaned or are from families unable to care for them. In partnership with Dar El Awlad, a ministry of Kids Alive Int’l, our team will provide summer programming and activities for the residential boys, ages 4-18, including bible school activities, school mentoring, in-home visits, and outdoor fun!
At DEA, at-risk children are receiving compassion and acceptance, a good education, nutritious meals, and news of a loving Savior. In addition to Lebanese orphans, Kids Alive programs provide critical support to child refugees of many other countries, including Sudan and Syria. These boys live in family-style apartments where they receive shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education, and a house mother who loves them and makes the house a real home. Our team will provide valuable support for staff and students during this summer break period.
This team will partner with the Buckner International Family Hope Center in San Jose Pinula, Guatemala to provide a medical clinic to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the community. The team will see patients from the community, distribute medications, establish plans for ongoing treatment, and connect with the spiritual needs of many families. Doctors, nurses, medical professionals, general clinic helpers, and spiritual care volunteers are needed.
Lesotho is a rural, mountainous country located within South Africa. Hosted in brick homes alongside missionaries Stan and Angie Burleson, a small team will serve the rural communities of Basotho men, women, and children through bible camps, events, and outreach.
