DISASTER RELIEF

After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we realized that our church had everything it needed to create, equip, and send a Disaster Relief team through Texas Baptist Men. So, in the two years after Katrina, the church researched and invested into a self-contained 32-foot shower and laundry unit. It is the only shower unit in Texas that is certified for handicapped use, and it has been deployed to several states already.

The 'Blue Caps' who presently direct the ministry are Fred Beck, Joel McPherson and Olin Isham. Although our unit exists primarily to respond to disaster situations, we also respond to some other ministry opportunities. Both men and women volunteers are involved.

Our Team has responded to disasters such as: the West, TX explosion, the fires, floods, and mud slides in Colorado, the Moore, OK tornado, the fires in Fritch, et cetera. This ministry responds immediately to those in need.

If you would like to be a part of this great ministry, you may contact one of the Blue Caps or the church for more details.
