5 year old Transitional Class

This class will be a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, allowing children more time to develop fundamental skills to be successful in kindergarten. It will be available for children who have completed a pre-k class and are aged 5, but not quite ready for kindergarten.

Goals for this class will be focused individually for each child. We want the children to have all the skills and tools needed to be confident upon entering kindergarten.

Days & Times will be Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Mission

Our Weekday Programs have as their primary goals, to promote the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social development of the children. Our purpose is to create an environment in which each child learns and develops to the best of his/her ability through high-quality Bible based curriculum and programs. The children are taught in classrooms where activities planned are age appropriate and teaching styles meet the needs of all learning styles. We believe that these activities and teaching styles will build character and self-esteem, which will encourage success in later school years.

Teachers

Our teachers are trained in child development, which allows them to implement various teaching styles to most effectively meet the needs of each individual child. Teachers promote positive guidance and an age appropriate environment for your preschooler. Teachers follow the WEE Learn Curriculum which is Bible based and encourages learning at the appropriate age level for your child. Our teacher/child ratios are kept low with two teachers in the classroom so as to encourage a one-on-one relationship with your child. Teachers are also certified in First Aid and CPR in order to ensure the health and well being of your child while they are in our program.

Curriculum

FBC Weekday Programs provides a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Your child will learn through centers including art, music, blocks, books/reading, home living, nature, puzzles, manipulatives, and writing. Learning concepts such as creative expression, problem solving, and thinking skills are taught and reinforced throughout the school year, and large and small motor skills are enhanced by daily activities. Positive self- esteem is developed through acceptance and accomplishments in the classroom.
