MEN,
One of MANY benefits related to my recent retirement is being able to regularly read from the host of books acquired while working full-time. In John Toland’s foreword to The Rising Sun: The Decline and Fall of the Japanese Empire, he shares his conclusion as follows: “…if any conclusion was reached, it was that there are no simple lessons in history, that it is human nature that repeats itself, not history.”
I struggle to come up with ANYTHING that repeats itself like the negatives of human nature. Oh, wait! I found one, an everlasting one.
“The LORD’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23)
Blessings to you and yours,
