A WORD FROM TOM FORAN

Dear Church Family, Pulling Christmas decorations down from the attic, our children’s birthdays, and Vacation Bible School are all strong evidence of how quickly time passes. I can now add one more to that list – retiring as your church’s Business Administrator following twenty-six years of service.
Growing up in Pampa, Texas, my family watched First Baptist Amarillo’s televised service on Sunday mornings before leaving the house for church. I assumed then that, should I ever live in Amarillo, I would join First Baptist, which I did, for the first time, in March 1976. My family and I rejoined the church in 1996, following ten years in Garland, Texas, and were delighted to do so.
Fast forward to May 2000 when I was asked to serve this historic church as Business Administrator, an unbelievable thought to anyone who witnessed my behavior as a child in that small Pampa church.
It has been my distinct pleasure, no, my honor, to serve you. I don’t have to tell you how blessed we are as a church. But, greater still, is how much you have blessed and continue to bless Kenda, Jourdan, Ali, Josh, and me. Kenda and I will still be worshiping and serving beside you!
Join us in Fellowship Hall Sunday, May 31, following the evening worship for a reception honoring Tom Foran!
